Meet your dentist
You will meet Dr. Moqattash at your first visit
Dr. Alexander Moqattash has looked after Rancho Cucamonga families since 2004. He will show you what he is seeing on the screen, explain it in plain language, and tell you honestly when something can be watched rather than treated today.

Your questions, answered
What actually happens at a first appointment
Most people want to know three things before they book: how long it takes, whether it will hurt, and what it will cost. Here is the honest version of the visit itself.
If something is hurting right now, say so when you book so we can leave time to deal with it.
Come prepared
What to bring, and what to tell us
Bringing the right things to a first appointment saves you a second trip and gets you a more accurate plan on day one.
The medication list matters more than most people expect. Blood thinners, bisphosphonates, diabetes and blood pressure medication, and even some supplements affect how we plan treatment and how your mouth heals afterward. Bring the actual list — names and doses — rather than trying to recall it in the chair.
The other thing worth writing down is your questions. It is remarkably easy to forget the one you came in with.
Insurance and payment optionsBring with you
- Photo ID and your dental insurance card
- A list of your current medications and their doses
- Vitamins and supplements you take regularly

Where to go next
Common reasons people book a first visit
Whatever brought you here, it starts with the same exam and the same conversation.
Step by step
Your first visit, start to finish
- 01
Book, and tell us what is going on
Online or by phone. If you are in pain or you have one specific worry, mention it when you book so the time is planned around it.
- 02
Paperwork and health history
Arrive a few minutes early to complete your forms, or ask us to send them ahead so you can fill them in at home.
- 03
Images and measurements
Digital X-rays if they are needed, and a periodontal exam that checks the health of the gum around each tooth.
- 04
The examination
Teeth, existing dental work, bite and soft tissue, plus a non-invasive oral cancer screening.
- 05
We talk it through
You see what we see on the screen. We explain what is urgent, what can safely be watched, and what each option involves.
- 06
Your plan and your costs
We go over what your plan is likely to cover and what your share would be, then schedule only what you are ready to go ahead with.
Still wondering
First visit questions we get every week
Will I get a cleaning at my first visit?
Sometimes. If your gums are healthy and there is time set aside, a cleaning at the same appointment is often possible — ask for it when you book so we can plan the time. If the exam shows gum disease, a routine cleaning is not the right treatment for it, and we will explain what is.
How long will I be there?
It depends on whether you are having X-rays and a cleaning on the same day, and on what the exam turns up. Ask the front desk how much time has been set aside for you when you book, so you can plan the rest of your day around it.
Do I need new X-rays if I had some recently somewhere else?
Not necessarily. Ask your previous dental office to send them across before your appointment. If they are recent and complete, we may be able to work from those instead of taking new ones.
I have not been to a dentist in years. Is that a problem?
No, and you are not the only person saying it this week. We are not here to lecture you. We will tell you what we find, put it in order of priority, and you can work through it at a pace that suits you.
I am nervous about dental treatment. What can you do?
Tell us before we start. Small things help more than people expect: explaining each step before it happens, agreeing a hand signal that stops everything, or breaking treatment into shorter appointments. If something has gone badly for you at a dentist before, say so — it is useful for us to know.
Will you try to sell me treatment I do not need?
You will get our findings, the images they are based on, and our recommendation. What you schedule is up to you. When something can reasonably be watched rather than treated today, we will tell you that too.
Can my children be seen at the same time?
We look after children and adults in the same practice, so families can often be seen one after the other. Mention it when you book so there is room on the schedule.
What if you find something that needs treating straight away?
We will tell you how urgent it is and what is likely to happen if you wait. If there is pain or infection involved, we will talk about dealing with it quickly rather than sending you home with it.
Do you take my dental insurance?
We are a Preferred Provider (PPO) for many dental insurance companies, and we accept children’s Medicaid. Plans differ, so call us with your plan name and member ID and we will check yours before you come in.
Can I fill in the forms before I arrive?
Ask when you book and we will arrange to get them to you, so your appointment time is spent on the exam rather than on paperwork.
The money question
What a first visit costs
An exam, X-rays and a cleaning are normally billed as separate items, and most dental plans cover preventive visits at a higher rate than other treatment. What you actually pay comes down to your plan, your deductible, and how much of your annual maximum you have already used this year.
Call us with your insurance details before you book and we will check your coverage for you. If you do not have dental insurance, ask what a new patient exam and X-rays come to — you should have a number before you sit in the chair, not after.
Insurance, CareCredit and payment optionsHow we handle cost
- We check your insurance ahead of the appointment when you give us the details
- Preferred Provider (PPO) for many dental insurance companies
- Children’s Medicaid accepted
- Cash, checks and most major credit cards
- CareCredit available for spreading treatment cost over time
- Cost and payment options are discussed with you before treatment is scheduled
