Rinse gently with warm water and floss carefully to clear any trapped food. A cold compress on the outside of your cheek can ease swelling. Don’t put aspirin against the tooth or gum — it burns the tissue. Pain that keeps coming back, or keeps you awake, has a cause worth finding.

Broken or cracked tooth

A chip, a crack, a sharp edge, or damage after a knock or a fall.What to do next

Rinse your mouth with warm water and hold a cold compress against your face for swelling. Save any pieces you can find and bring them with you. A crack that looks small on the surface can still reach the nerve, so get it looked at rather than waiting to see.

Knocked-out tooth

An adult tooth has come out. This is the one where minutes really matter.What to do next

Pick the tooth up by the crown, never the root. If it’s dirty, rinse it briefly in milk or saline — don’t scrub it. If it slips back into the socket easily, hold it there by biting on a clean cloth. If it won’t, keep it in a cup of milk and bring it. Never put a baby tooth back. Come in as fast as you can; if you can’t reach us, go to another emergency dentist.

Swelling or infection

Swollen gums, a swollen face, a bad taste — the symptoms of a tooth infection.What to do next

A suspected dental abscess needs treating, not waiting out — it won’t clear on its own. Call and describe what you’re seeing. If breathing or swallowing is getting difficult, or the swelling is spreading toward your eye or throat, that’s an emergency room, not a dental office.

Lost filling or crown

A filling or crown that’s come out, gone loose, or broken away.What to do next

Keep the crown somewhere safe and bring it — a crown repair often means re-cementing the one you already have. Chew on the other side and keep the area clean. Don’t try to glue it back yourself. The tooth underneath is exposed and fragile, so it’s worth sorting quickly.

Wisdom tooth pain

Pressure or jaw pain right at the back, or a gum flap that keeps flaring up.What to do next

Rinse with warm salt water and keep the area as clean as you can — food trapped under a gum flap is often what sets it off. A cold compress helps the jaw. Wisdom tooth pain that keeps returning usually needs an X-ray to see what the tooth is actually doing.

Braces or mouth injury

A wire digging in, or a bitten lip, cheek or tongue that won’t settle.What to do next

For a bitten lip or tongue, rinse gently and use a cold compress. Cover a sharp wire end with orthodontic wax. Don’t pull out a wire that’s embedded in the gum or cheek — let us take it out. If bleeding won’t stop with gentle pressure, go to an emergency department.

Can I be seen today?

Call (909) 852-6787 and we’ll tell you honestly what’s open today rather than promising a slot we don’t have. It depends on the day and on how urgent your problem is. If you can’t reach us and it’s urgent, please find another emergency dentist rather than waiting.

Can I just walk in?

Please call first. We’ll check the schedule and either bring you in or tell you the soonest we can — which beats sitting in a waiting room with a toothache for an appointment that isn’t there.

I’ve never been to Finesse before. Is that a problem?

Not at all — you don’t need to be an existing patient to be seen for an emergency. Bring a photo ID and your insurance details if you have them, and arrive a few minutes early for the new-patient paperwork.

What will it cost?

An emergency visit starts with an exam and the imaging needed to find the cause. What the treatment costs depends on what we find, and you’ll hear the figure before we begin. Ask about the examination fee when you call.

Do you take my insurance?

We’re a Preferred Provider for many PPO dental plans, including children’s Medicaid. Call with your plan details and we’ll check your participation and benefits for you. We also take cash, checks and most major credit cards, and work with CareCredit. View financial options.

Will I need a root canal or an extraction?

Not necessarily. Plenty of emergencies are settled with a filling, a crown or clearing an infection. Where the nerve is involved, root canal treatment usually saves the tooth, and removal is the last resort — if it does come to that, we’ll talk about replacing the tooth at the same time.

I’m nervous about the dentist. Can you help?

Tell us when you book and we’ll plan around it — more time, everything explained before it happens, and nitrous oxide (laughing gas) is available. There are blankets and headphones too. Learn about comfort options.

I usually do not have time to write reviews, but this time I needed to take the time to write it. The care itself is top‑notch, but what really sets them apart is the atmosphere they create. They explain everything clearly, make sure you’re comfortable, and somehow turn something most people dread into a positive experience.  We had such a wonderful experience. The entire team (Lorena, Simone and I can't recall the name of the other two beautiful ladies helping Dr Moqattash, so sorry) is incredibly friendly, patient, and caring. They made my children  (ages 11, 12 &15) feel completely comfortable from the moment we walked in. The staff went above and beyond to explain everything and make the visit fun and stress-free. It’s clear they truly care about their young patients. Highly recommend to any parent looking for an exceptional pediatric dental experience. Dr Moqattash is very personal and remembered who I was from my last visit.  He is thoughtful and considerate as to any pain or discomfort me or my kids might feel. My children love him and he is the only dentist they want to keep going. If you’re looking for a dental office where you feel cared for, respected, and truly welcomed, this is the place. I can’t recommend them enough.
