Why are your teeth
darker than they were?

This is the question worth answering first. Surface staining from coffee, tea, red wine or smoking usually responds well. But a tooth that has gone gray on its own can mean something different, and whitening gel will not fix decay, an old filling that has darkened, or a tooth that needs treatment inside. We look before we whiten, so you are not bleaching over a problem.

I usually do not have time to write reviews, but this time I needed to take the time to write it. The care itself is top‑notch, but what really sets them apart is the atmosphere they create. They explain everything clearly, make sure you’re comfortable, and somehow turn something most people dread into a positive experience.  We had such a wonderful experience. The entire team (Lorena, Simone and I can't recall the name of the other two beautiful ladies helping Dr Moqattash, so sorry) is incredibly friendly, patient, and caring. They made my children  (ages 11, 12 &15) feel completely comfortable from the moment we walked in. The staff went above and beyond to explain everything and make the visit fun and stress-free. It’s clear they truly care about their young patients. Highly recommend to any parent looking for an exceptional pediatric dental experience. What whitening does well

And where it
has limits.

Whitening lifts natural tooth enamel. It cannot change everything in your mouth, and it helps to know that before you start.

Coffee, tea and red wine stainingThe everyday staining that builds up slowly over years. This is what professional whitening handles best.

Teeth that dulled with ageEnamel thins over time and the yellower layer underneath shows through more. Whitening can lift this.

Tobacco stainingUsually responds, though it often takes longer and holds less well if smoking continues.

It will not lighten crowns or veneersPorcelain and composite do not bleach. If you have existing work on your front teeth, tell us — whitening around it can leave a mismatch.

Deep internal discolorationGray or banded discoloration from injury, some medications or dental fluorosis responds less predictably. Sometimes another approach fits better.

White spots stay whiteWhitening lightens the whole tooth, so existing white patches often stay visible. We will say so before you commit.

Options & suitability

In-office or
take-home trays?

Both use professional-strength gel, and both work. The difference is pace and control.

In office is done here in a single appointment, with your gums isolated and the gel applied under supervision. It suits people who want it handled in one sitting.

Custom take-home trays are made from a scan of your teeth so the gel stays on the enamel and off the gum. You wear them for a set period each day over a couple of weeks. Slower, more gradual, and easier to manage if your teeth are sensitive — plus you keep the trays for future touch-ups.

Some people do both: a session here, then trays to maintain it. We will talk through which makes sense once we have seen your teeth.

Worth knowing before you start

Whitening lightens natural teeth only — not crowns, veneers or fillings.
Results are not permanent. How long they hold depends on diet, smoking and habits.
Sensitivity is common during treatment and usually settles afterwards.
Existing decay or gum problems get treated before whitening, not after.
If one dark tooth is the issue, whitening the whole arch may not be the answer.

An exam before any gel
We check for decay, gum health and the cause of the discoloration, and record your starting shade. If something needs treating first, you will hear about it now rather than later.
Scan and fit, or whiten here
For take-home trays we scan your teeth and have trays made to fit them. For in-office whitening we protect the gums and carry out the session in the chair.
Review and maintain
We look at the result against the recorded starting shade, talk about sensitivity if you had any, and cover what keeps the result going.

How much does teeth whitening cost?

It depends on whether you go with in-office whitening, custom take-home trays, or a combination, and on whether anything needs treating first. We will give you the cost before you commit to it. Call (909) 852-6787 and ask — we would rather talk it through than have you guess.

How much whiter will my teeth get?

That varies with the type of staining and the shade you start from, which is exactly why we record the starting shade. Anyone quoting you a specific number of shades before looking at your teeth is guessing. We will tell you what looks realistic for your case.

Is professional whitening different from drugstore strips?

Yes, in two ways. The gel is stronger, and it is applied with your gums protected by a barrier or a tray molded to your teeth. Strips are a reasonable option for mild surface staining; they tend to struggle with deeper discoloration and they do not adapt to the shape of your teeth.

Will it make my teeth sensitive?

Sensitivity during whitening is common and usually settles once treatment finishes. Tell us if your teeth are already sensitive — it changes how we pace the treatment and which approach we suggest, and there are steps we can take to manage it.

I have a crown on a front tooth. Can I still whiten?

You can whiten the natural teeth around it, but the crown will not change color. That sometimes leaves a visible mismatch where there was not one before. Mention it at the consultation and we will look at how noticeable it would be, and what the options are.

How long do the results last?

There is no fixed answer. Coffee, tea, red wine and smoking all shorten it, and so does time. Many people top up periodically, which is one reason custom trays are useful — you keep them.

I have an event coming up. How far ahead should I book?

Tell us the date at the consultation and we will plan backwards from it. Leave enough room for an exam first and for any sensitivity to settle before the day.

Is whitening safe for my enamel?

Professional whitening supervised by a dentist has a long record of use. The reason we examine first is that whitening over untreated decay or inflamed gums is where problems come from, not the gel on healthy enamel.

 Verified I have been coming here the past two years. First, Lorena is an amazing liaison with your insurance and will do all she can to help you with receiving services. Every single staff member of this establishment is KIND and PATIENT. I love that each of their personalities are all positive and uplifting. Which brings me to Simone, the dental hygienist who is knowledgable, thorough in her work, and compassionate. My mom enjoys going to Simone, which says a lot for someone who in the past dreaded going to get a cleaning. Lastly, Dr. Alex is not a pushy salesman type of dentist. He will give you his recommendations and rationale. Truly, he is a nice man who has provided me, my mother and my 2 year old will excellent care.  Verified I had gone to another dentist close by and they quoted me a pretty high price, 8400.00 out of pocket, I decided to get a second opinion and came to Finesse dental in Rancho, the office manager I spoke to, her name is Lorena, she is very professional and very friendly, gave me great advice insurance wise, I ended up paying less than half of what the other dentist was going to charge, what I noticed right away is they have the latest in technology as far as equipment and dental software, very impressive, Dr. Moqattash is very professional, friendly and patient with his patients, also he is very good at what he does, his staff give out a great vibe, I am super happy that I decided to come here, the dental hygienist was also very professional and friendly and gave me lots of great advice on how to care for my teeth. I don't even know what to say. As someone that was traumatized as a child from the dentist. When I found out my child(3yr) had a cavity I was highly anxious. After doing hours of research on the fillings it left me even more anxious knowing my kid had to fast be sedated and injected for a cavity. When loosing hope I found a post on laser fillings for cavities, which is non invasive. I quickly came
On yelp to find my nearest option  and I came across this dentistry. If we were informed that such technology exists less children would be traumatized. The staff here is beyond amazing and helpful.  Verified I would like to take a minute to thank Dr. Alexander for the exceptional work and customer service he provided my dear Mom. She is 82 years old and has never had any dental work done in her life. She has beautiful teeth. But, she recently found a cracked tooth that desperately needed attention. So, he found that she actually needed two root canals on two of her wisdom teeth which went very smoothly. I had hoped that it would not be painful for her, but she did wonderful throughout the entire procedure. Alexander was very professional, knowledgeable, confident, gentle, and kind! He was very accomodating to Mom--I was very pleased with him. The entire staff is quite cohesive with how they work together as a team. Lorena was exceptional--very nice and personable and the other two assistants were equally impressive. The office is classy and serene and peaceful with its fountain in the center of all the work stations. The music was very relaxing. She provides useful tips in bettering my hygiene practices and is very attentive in making sure I get a good clean on my checkups.
